" Darley swoop to buy Australia's half-brother

A DUBAWI half-brother to dual Derby winner Australia has been purchased by Sheikh Mohammed's Darley operation in a private sale from Stanley House Stud.
The commercial stallion policy of Coolmore means the yearling colt, being the product of a Darley stallion, would not have been considered to train alongside his illustrious sibling at Ballydoyle should he have passed through the sales ring this year.
However, it seems significant Sheikh Mohammed has acted so swiftly to acquire the son of outstanding racemare Ouija Board, whose Group 1 victories included a seven-length romp in the Oaks and two wins at the Breeders' Cup. Ouija Board, a Lord Derby homebred and the flagbearer......................"

In Japan traf sich anlässlich der JRHA Select Sale Isabel Mathew für die „Sport-Welt“ mit Besitzer und Züchter Teruya Yoshida, dem größten Vollblutbesitzer in Japan. Er kam seinerzeit zunächst in den Teilbesitz, später, als die Arc-Siegerin ihre Rennkarriere beendete, ging die Lomitas-Tochter ganz in seinen Besitz über. Nun machte er in Japan eine interessante Aussage.

Gegenüber Isabel Mathew, die sich für die "Sport-Welt" mit Teruya Yoshida in Japan anlässlich der JRHA Select Sale traf, äußerte sich Teruya Yoshida dahingehend, dass er den ersten Nachkommen der Danedream, eine von Frankel stammende Stute im kommenden Jahr in Newmarket auf die Auktion bringen werde. Natürlich war auch Novellist, in dessen Besitz Yoshida im letzten Jahr ebenfalls gekommen war, in diesem Gespräch, das in der aktuellen Sonntagausgabe der "Sport-Welt" veröffentlich ist, ein Thema......"

" Derby hero Pour Moi will not shuttle this year

THE 2011 Epsom Derby winner Pour Moi will not be shuttling to Windsor Park Stud in New Zealand for the upcoming southern hemisphere breeding season.
The six-year-old son of the late Montjeu developed a problem while in quarantine in Newmarket and as a result on veterinary advice the Derby winner will not travel to New Zealand..............."

Making his first start in stakes company, front-running Tourist put away Storming Inti rounding the turn for home and spurted clear in the stretch to take the $100,000 Sir Cat Stakes on opening day at Saratoga Race Course July 18.

Tourist's third consecutive victory came one race after internationally renowned jockey Frankie Dettori won his first race at Saratoga aboard pacesetter Aventure Love in a 5 1/2-furlong turf sprint...................."

"......The popular Dettori earned his first Spa victory with Aventure Love, who tallied by one length at 5-2 odds while running the 5 1/2-furlong sprint in 1:01.54. The breakthrough win came in Dettori's second mount at Saratoga.

"It feels great. To get the first one out of the way, great," he said. "It was a great feeling when I crossed that line, you know? I felt like a kid again. It's a childhood dream to ride at Saratoga and I managed to do it. I only just started; I'm here until Monday.

"I was in Istanbul Wednesday night, and rode in England last night and slept at the airport. I got a morning flight and I arrived at 11 a.m. (in New York) but they lost my luggage. As you can see I got Rajiv's (Maragh) pants and boots and (Julien) Leparoux's whip, so I borrowed a bit from everyone. Hopefully my tack will arrive tomorrow; otherwise I got to take this lucky one back with me."

A 3-year-old filly bred in France by Pacific Ridge Stable, Aventure Love ($7.80) is trained by Wesley Ward for Ice Wine Stable. She is by Orpen out of Kshanti, by Diesis (GB). "
