Ich hab da offenbar einen Tick, aber für mich ist der vom Aussehen her wieder so ein typischer Mill-Reef-via-Shirley-Heights-Typ.

        A well-known syndicator would
not be out of place reeling off the
        breeding achievements of High
        Chaparral ahead of the Coolmore
        resident’s crack at immortality in
        Tuesday’s Melbourne Cup (Gr 1,
        3200m).
        You can hear the television
        advertisement already... “Cox
Plate – won it twice. Caulfield Cup
        – won it. AJC Australian Derby -
won it. VRC Derby – won it” but
        the Melbourne Cup could be
added to the story if any of High
        Chaparral’s four representatives
        wins on Tuesday.
        High Chaparral’s (Sadler’s Wells)
        oldest Australian progeny are
        four-year-olds but the eight-time
Group 1 winner has already sired
an AJC Australian Derby (Gr 1,
        2400m) trifecta with three of
        his Melbourne Cup contenders,
        Shoot Out, Descarado and
        Monaco Consul.
The quartet all have chances to hand their sire a feat many
thought impossible, a stallion winning the big three – the Caulfield
Cup, Cox Plate and Melbourne Cup – with more than one horse.
Alonzo sired the winner of Melbourne’s prestigious trio of race in
1954 but he achieved the feat with one horse, the champion New
Zealand stayer Rising Fast, trained by Ivan Tucker.
A Melbourne Cup win from either Cox Plate champion So You
Think or the Caulfield Cup hero Descarado could hand their sire
the trio of spring classics with two horses.
However, a victory from either Shoot Out or Monaco Consul would
mean High Chaparral has achieved the previously unheard of
winning the three races with three different horses.
A High Chaparral win with any of his Melbourne Cup progeny would
mean the world to Windsor Park Stud where the outstanding
racehorse stood his first three seasons before moving to Australia
to stand at Coolmore in NSW.
While High Chaparral has already carved out a terrific reputation
as a staying influence in Australia and across the Tasman, Windsor
Park’s marketing manager Mike Moran said it was important to
remember the dual Breeders’ Cup Turf winner also produced his
        share of juvenile stakes winners.
Moran said “it did not matter” which of High Chaparral’s sons won
the Melbourne Cup as long as the former New Zealand resident
        achieved history.
“Let’s not forget So You Think was unbeaten as a two-year-old,”
Moran said. “Shoot Out was also a Group 2 winner as a two-yearold
in the QTC Sires’ Produce Stakes so High Chaparral throws
        all types.
“High Chaparral raced on 13 occasions, he won 10 races with a
second and two thirds. His two thirds came in the (Prix de) L’Arc
de Triomphe (Gr 1, 1m 4f) so on a bad day at the office he was still
        a world-class racehorse.
“The High Chaparral stock are just like their sire. They are
obviously very tough and they are obviously very talented and we
would be thrilled to see any of his sons win on Tuesday.”
So You Think is the pronounced favourite to win the Melbourne
Cup ahead of the Zabeel four-year-old Maluckyday, the impressive
winner of the Lexus Stakes (registered name Hotham Handicap)
(Gr 3, 2500m). Shocking won the Lexus Stakes three days before

        last year’s Melbourne Cup triumph

Coolmore Stud will anteile an So You Think erwerben

Monaco Consul retired to stand at Patinack Farm

By Bloodstock World Staff 11:28AM 9 DEC 2010
PROMINENT Australian operation Patinack Farm, which recently secured the southern hemisphere breeding rights to Lope De Vega, has secured another high-profile new recruit for the 2011 season in Monaco Consul.
Trained by Michael Moroney, Monaco Consul landed back-to-back Group 1 victories in 2009, namely the Inglis Spring Champion Stakes and Victoria Derby.
The son of High Chaparral was also third three times at Group 1 level, most recently in the Caulfield Cup in October. He was retired after straining a suspensory ligament in the Melbourne Cup last month.
"I have watched this horse very closely during his career as he often competed against our very own stable's runners, including two of our Group 1 winners," said Nathan Tinkler, owner of Patinack Farm.

"With the progeny of High Chaparral rekindling Australia's interest in strong middle distance performers, Monaco Consul will find a niche in the growing market of those looking to breed racehorses capable of excelling at a mile and beyond."
Monaco Consul is out of Argante, a Starway sister to Group 1 winner Con Air.
He will join Lope De Vega, Beautiful Crown, Casino Prince , Husson, Murtajill, Raheeb and Wonderful World at Patinack Farm, which is based in New South Wales.
